Blue Sapphire 0.50ct

This natural blue sapphire came from rough found in the gem-bearing gravels of southern Sri Lanka, near Ratnapura, Sri Lanka, and carries a medium Ceylon blue with balanced saturation and pleasing face-up colour, with slight zoning typical of mined rough. The stone weighs 0.50 ct. Faceted by our cutters into an oval cut, with lively colour flashes across the crown. Heated in the usual way to improve face-up colour. Noticeable internal character, including faint silk, wispy natural texture, visible at close range but not when worn. Fine for a ring or pendant, or to round out a gem collection.
