This natural blue sapphire was sourced from the Sabaragamuwa gem region of Sri Lanka and carries a medium Ceylon blue with balanced saturation and pleasing face-up colour. The stone weighs 0.61 ct. Cut by hand in Sri Lanka into a cushion cut, with good light return face-up. Traditionally heated after cutting to settle the colour. Some natural texture inside, including faint silk, which is what you expect from Sri Lankan material. Suits a ring, pendant, or a small addition to a colour collection.
