Blue Sapphire 0.70ct

This natural blue sapphire was selected from rough out of the Sabaragamuwa gem region of Sri Lanka and displays a bright cornflower blue with lively face-up colour and good sparkle in daylight, with colour zoning that follows the crystal's growth. The stone weighs 0.70 ct. Cut in Sri Lanka into an oval cut, facets worked so light gathers in the clearer parts of the stone. Heat treated; a standard step used to bring out the blue. Rich inclusions throughout: fine silk, internal veils, included crystals, giving a misty, textured look that reads as real Ceylon rough, not lab material. Not for everyone who wants glass-clean; right for someone who values how the crystal actually formed.
