A 3.00 ct Ceylon royal blue sapphire in a brilliant round cut with strong face-up colour and good life across the crown. Included: a chipped area at the girdle that reads more strongly on video than in hand. The stone is fully intact; nothing is loose or at risk of breaking away, and the weight is preserved at a full 3.00 ct. Set in a ring with the girdle covered by the basket or prongs, the inclusion is hidden and you are left with a substantial royal blue three-carat solitaire. Recut remains an option for a buyer who wants a cleaner stone at lower weight. Mined at Nivithigala, Ratnapura, Sri Lanka.
