This natural yellow sapphire was cut from material mined in the river pits around Ratnapura, Sri Lanka and displays a light yellow with even face-up colour and brilliant, strong luster. The stone weighs 0.95 ct. Hand-cut locally into an oval cut, with lively colour flashes across the crown. Not heated; natural colour throughout. Some natural texture inside, including faint silk, which is what you expect from Sri Lankan material. A wearable stone for a simple mount or a growing suite.
