Padparadscha Sapphire 0.98ct

This natural padparadscha sapphire was cut from material mined in the Ratnapura gem gravels of Sri Lanka and displays the pink-orange padparadscha tone, shifting between peach and salmon in daylight. The stone weighs 0.98 ct. Hand-cut locally into a pear cut, with lively colour flashes across the crown. Received heat treatment after cutting. Faint internal character (faint silk); typical of earth-mined stone. Padparadscha is rare; this pear suits a ring or pendant without much distraction in the mount.
