This matched pair of natural royal blue sapphires were matched from rough out of the Ratnapura gem gravels of Sri Lanka and carry deep, saturated royal blue and consistent face-up colour on both stones, with slight zoning typical of mined rough. The stone weighs 0.79 ct. Cut in Sri Lanka into a round cut, with lively colour flashes across the crown. Heat treated; a standard step used to bring out the blue. Includes faint silk; small signs of natural origin, not a flaw. Rare as a pair, suited to earrings or a double-stone design.
