White Sapphire 1.83ct

From our Portrait Art Collection, this natural white sapphire was cut from material mined in the Ratnapura gem gravels of Sri Lanka and carries a colourless, bright white with good transparency face-up. The stone weighs 1.83 ct. Faceted locally into a portrait cut; visible internal texture was kept in the design to freeze a moment from the crystal's long growth into one sculptural face. Not heated; natural colour throughout. Inclusions are clearly visible face-up; that is intentional, an attempt to hold roughly 600 million years of sapphire history in a single portrait rather than polish the story away. A Portrait Art Collection piece; suited to a simple mount that lets the internal scene stay readable.
